On warm days I enjoy going down to the battery and walking along the water. At this park you will see some of Charleston's most luxurious homes. These are some of the most beautiful properties one would ever see. There are also several statues in the area that were erected in recognition of the city's role in the civil war. One thing to note is that the Hunley submarine, the first sub to sink a ship, sunk off of the shore of Charleston's battery Another thing that I find interesting is that some of the trees in this park were used for public hangings in the 1800's. Many pirates lost their lives in this park. It's a great place to have a picnic and if you're into photography, this park has some wonderful photo opportunities available.
