This is one of America's most interesting historic landmarks. This seacoast fort has been a valuable defensive tool for 171 years. some of the mechanics of the fort still remain within it's walls, as well as the many holding rooms used for weaponry. It's very well known for the firing onto Fort Sumter during the first battle of The Civil War. This is a great piece of American history.
